The BPF is open to any Harvard Medical School or Harvard
Affiliated Laboratory. If you are from another school, hospital, or non-profit
outside of Harvard University you
may
also use our facility without restrictions.
If you are from a biotechnology company or other for-profit venture you may
use our facility but certain restrictions may apply. Please contact
our
facility director for further details.
All of our billing is done using a monthly invoice system.
Your statements will be available online in PDF format and in print, mailed
directly to your office. PIs and Billing Admins can view and pay invoices online.
Other lab members may be given permission to view invoices if the PI so wishes
but normally will not be able to do so. Purchase orders are not required by
the Biopolymers Facility with the exception of Affymetrix
Gene
Chip services.
If
your organization
requires a PO to appear on every invoice we have accommodations to maintain
standing PO's and print them on your monthly invoice. For every service or
product ordered by your lab members we keep an electronic
record
and compile
the sum
total
of
all charges
in a monthly invoice. Each Invoice includes an itemization by lab member
and individual service sample or item. Bills may be paid by check
or 33 digit
billing code. At this time we do not except credit card payments. For more

Each member of your lab will have her/his own login account
with the BPF that is associated
with a Primary Investigator. Every order that is placed under a particular
user ID is tracked and will be billed to your account
at the end of each
month. New
accounts must go through an approval process to assure they are legitimate
members of your lab before the individual accounts can be activated. If a PI
account does not currently exist an email will automatically be generated and
sent to the individual requesting a new account. This email will detail all
the needed information to open a PI account to which the appropriate users
will be linked.
Pricing for each service is listed in our technologies section. All reagents and supplies offered by third party vendors
through our stockroom program have prices listed in the
private section of
this
web site.
