Biopolymers Facility at Harvard Medical School

Bioanalyzer

The Biopolymers Facility offers advanced software and diagnostic tools for analysis of DNA and RNA. Clients of our facility may request access to this equipment as listed below.

Overview

The Biopolymers Facility is equipped with an Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer that can accommodate both DNA and RNA LabChips. This multipurpose platform is designed as a microfluidic alternative to gel electrophoresis. The “lab-on-a-chip” technology integrates sample separation with automated analysis to provide reproducible data faster and more economically than traditional methods. Results can be viewed as an electropherogram or as a standard gel-like image. For extensive details on the Agilent system please see their brochure in PDF format available here.
