Individual Orders: Basic Sequencing Service

Instructions
1.

Login & Place an Order

On the web at http://genome.med.harvard.edu login with a valid ID and password. Navigate to the sequencing section and then click Order Individual Template. Type the number of templates you wish to submit and select either 15ul or 30ul total volume. Fill in your template name, and primer and select your expected read length. Confirm and complete your order, then print the requisition sheet.

2.

Prepare Samples in 0.5ml tubes

In the required microtube prepare your samples with both template and primer according to the chart below:

Template PCR product 12.5 ng/100 base pairs 25 ng/100 base pairs
Double Strand DNA (plasmid) 500 ng 1000 ng
Single Stand DNA 100 ng 200ng

3.

Arrange tubes by order number and snap closed

Line up samples tubes in the order in which they are listed on your requisition sheet. Seal tubes with caps.

4.

Label tube with sample number

Please label each tube only with the unique sample number listed next to the corresponding sample name on your requisition sheet. Each sample should have a unique number that follows the order your have arranged your tubes. Sample names should not be written on tubes.

We highly recommend using the labels we have in stock for tube labeling.

5.

Drop off sample tubes in a BPF Freezer

You can track the status of your samples online under View My Orders and when your order is complete download the data in AB1 format.
